I need help picking an accent color for a diningroom.?
I’m going to paint 3 walls bright white, but need a color for the wall the custom made valance is on. It is an older house built in 1925, rounded plastered doorways, oak wood floor stained a golden color. Walnut china cabinet and tableset. The curtain has gold, green and burgundy in it. It is right off the livingroom and that room has forest green carpeting, also painted white. Any suggestions?
Wow, they all sound awesome, I would try the stripe painting except my walls are textured plaster. Trying to keep straight lines on that would be quite a task. I’m leaning toward the burgandy suggestions. Thanks to you all for your help.
I have to agree with the others that say a deep beautiful red.
It’s a spectacuar color!! Don’t be afraid of the color “red”,, you juuuussst might like it. I think you would get some comps on it also. It also puts a little contemperary look into your older home. I love red myself. My drapes are red, candles,, asian pieces are red. I love it,, you just might too.
Try to accent with some silver, lightly,,, like a bar set,,, or a lamp,, just to break up all the wood. Good luck!!!
